Azar watched his human as he laughed and leaned over the ledge, allowing the rushing wind to offset his weight and keep him from tumbling to his death. He didn’t seem the least bit concerned about the distance he would have the chance to plummet to earth. Not that Azar would let him but Kain was fearless.

Are you finished? He truly wasn’t in a rush, watching this human enjoy the simplest of things was oddly soothing to his soul. He liked being the one to allow him such freedom to do things like this.

“Do we have to leave? If so, then yes. If we can stay longer, no, I’m not done. This is like flying.”

Azar scoffed. Not even close.

“Well to those of us born without those handy appendages you refer to as wings, it is like flying.”

I flew you to get here. What you are doing now is nothing like that.

He absolutely refused to entertain such a supposition.

Kain laughed as he repeated the dangerous lean. “Yes well, that was different. I was a bit distracted by your hard body against mine to fully appreciate what was experiencing.”

Unsure of what to say, all he could do was stare at the man he didn’t want to let out of his sight.

Azar took to the sky in an instant, his need to keep the man safe overriding everything. From his height, he could see him falling, not fast for the wind was doing a good job of keeping him up but every so often, he would drop.

What he couldn’t, and didn’t, miss was the laughter coming from Kain. It rushed up out of the wind tunnel and let him know that this man was completely enjoying this experience.

Would you like me to catch you now or are you still enjoying yourself?

Arms out and even fingers spread, he bounced along.

If this is how I make it down from however high up we are I’m fine, but if it is going to stop and let me plummet to my death, yes, I’d prefer that you save me.

He drew his wings back and flew down to where he was. Fanning his wings, he held even as Kain continued to cavort and enjoy himself like a youngling who’d just learned how to fly. Reaching out his hand, he waited for Kain to take it, then he beat his wings and lifted
